Administrative Support Services includes executive assistants, partner/counsel secretaries and receptionists.
Attorney Recruiting and Development provides dedicated support to the attorney population, including policy administration, employee relations, recruitment, training and development, performance management, HR systems and compliance.
The Benefits department oversees administration of the firm’s insurance provider plans (medical, dental, vision, etc.) and the retirement/savings plans for both attorneys and staff.
The Client Administration department manages anti-money laundering/know-your-client (AML/KYC) compliance protocols and handles client intake, billing and collections; pricing for engagements of Grand Park Law Group services; and review of outside counsel guidelines and legal project management.
Facility Management implements policies and practices that provide safe, efficient and comfortable workspaces supporting the needs of the firm in a sustainable way.
The Firm Tax Group handles U.S. tax compliance and tax planning for the firm and assists the firm’s global advisers in maintaining international tax compliance.
The General Ledger Group maintains the accounting records for the firm on a global basis. They review the transactions processed by all departments for accuracy and completeness, perform account reconciliations, process international payrolls and prepare appropriate journal entries. The group also participates in the monthly closing and preparation of financial reports.
Global Real Estate is responsible for the oversight and administration of the firm’s real estate portfolio, including construction, project management, capital expenditures, lease administration, property insurance and operations planning.
Information Governance and Records Management oversees the process of maintaining the proper storage and disposition of the firm’s paper and electronic records.
Human Resources is responsible for policy administration, employee relations, recruitment, training and development, performance management, HR systems and compliance.
Legal assistants work closely with attorneys across practice areas to provide support throughout all phases of litigation cases and corporate transactions.
The Global Marketing and Communications Department drafts new business pitches and responses to requests for proposal (RFPs), creates and administers content across digital and print platforms, manages public and media relations and coordinates client and alumni educational programming and events globally — all in support of enhancing Skadden’s brand and raising the profile of the firm, our Skadden Partnersand our practices.
The Operations Group is a 24-hour department of more than 150 people who collaborate to provide direct support to attorneys and clients, with an emphasis on the creation, refinement, reproduction and dissemination of documents. Under the Operations Group’s umbrella are document processors, off-hours legal assistants and reprographics operators, along with technical specialists, graphics staff and EDGAR staff. Through extensive cross-training and considerable overlap among its subdivisions, the department flexibly handles attorney requests in myriad ways.
The Partner Accounting Group manages partner compensation and maintenance of individual partners’ capital accounts.
Planning and Analysis is responsible for all areas of business reporting and analysis with a focus on the annual firm budget preparation, quarterly forecasting and monthly monitoring and analysis. The department provides consulting, cost control, project management, training and support across the firm in all areas of budgeting, variance analysis and financial report design, creation and distribution.
The Purchasing Department procures goods and services that meet firm standards, administers the RFP process, negotiates contract and evaluates and validates prices.
Research and Knowledge Services oversees corporate, legal and tax research and conflicts of interest management.
The Security Department is responsible for the implementation of policies that protect personnel and promote a safe and secure working environment.
Audio Visual (AV) Systems – The AV Department’s primary focus is to support and implement effective and innovative audio-visual experiences, environments and solutions to ensure successful communication and collaboration between the firm and its clients, as well as internally.
Business Systems and Information (BSI) – BSI provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) system management and support, custom application development and support, application and data integration, reporting, data management, systems analysis and related project management to the firm’s business units.
Legal Technology – Legal Technology supports the firm’s practice-specific software for the litigation/controversy, transactions and regulatory practices. They also provide consulting solutions by working with attorneys and clients to implement best practices for electronic discovery.
Technology Integration – The Technology Integration Team is responsible for desktops/desktop applications, remote access, custom development, quality assurance testing and end-user support.
The Treasury and Investments Group performs global treasury functions for the firm, including investing the firm’s working capital, managing its short-term liquidity and administering various firm investments.
