27th National Forum on Residential Mortgage Regulatory Enforcement and Litigation

Washington, D.C. litigation counsel Austin Brown spoke during American Conference Institute’s 27th National Forum on Residential Mortgage Regulatory Enforcement and Litigation, held November 17-18. Mr. Brown participated in a panel discussion titled “Fair Lending Compliance and Defense Strategies: Challenges in Underwriting, Redlining and Equitably Implementing Relief Programs.” Topics included, among others, pre- and post-COVID enforcement relating to pricing and underwriting under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Civil Rights Act, recent actions over inequitable treatment of noncitizens in lending practices, trends in discrimination complaints, and regulatory scrutiny over alleged redlining evidence in marketing efforts.
